Based on the young adult book series by Suzanne Collins, the film is about Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who lives in an impoverished district of a dystopian US called Panem. To save her younger sister, Katniss volunteers to compete in the Hunger Games, where 24 teenagers from Panem's twelve districts fight to the death. The film co-stars Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, and Wes Bentley.
